Now

The word “now” is one of the most powerful words in the English language. It has multiple meanings, and it can be used to express a variety of emotions or ideas.

At its most superficial level, “now” means this exact moment in measured time – right now, for instance! This could refer to something that’s happening at this very second or an event that just took place seconds ago. For example, if someone says, “it’s raining now,” they mean it is currently raining outside (or inside).

In addition to referring to a specific point in time, “now” can also be used as an adverb, meaning immediately or without delay. In other words, when you say to do something “right now,” you ask for it to be done quickly and without hesitation. For instance: I need you to finish your homework right now!

Finally, the word “now” can also denote current relevance – as opposed to past events which may no longer matter today; e.,g., The technology we use today is much more advanced than what was available ten years ago – so what worked then may not work for us now.”
