Legend (Read First — Do Not Skip)
This legend defines every field used in the entries below. All entries follow the same order; nothing is removed, items are only added.
- Letter: The named symbol of the alphabet (A–Z), preceded by Zero as origin.
- Grapheme: The written unit as a character (e.g., “A”, “B”).
- Glyph: The visual form/shape (historical/formal description).
- Phoneme: Canonical sound(s) associated with the letter (IPA).
- Morpheme: A smallest meaning-bearing unit linked to the letter (prefix/root with gloss).
- Lexeme: A word-family example showing the letter’s functional inheritance.
- Semantics(two layers — maintained and never rearranged):
- Denotational semantics (what it names directly).
- Relational/structural semantics (how it sits in the system).
(Both are stated on the single “Semantics” line.)
- Numbering(placed directly beneath Semantics, by design):
- Ordinal (“first”, “second”, … “twenty-sixth”),
- Cardinal number and spelled-out form (e.g., 1 (One)),
- Roman numeral (I … XXVI).
- Pragmatics: Context of use, operational function, and application.
- Encodings (Appendix): ASCII decimal/hex and binary crosswalks for each letter (upper/lower) and for zero; included without altering the entry pattern.
- Zero vs. O: Zero (0) is numeric (void/origin); O is alphabetic (totality/orb). Both are shown; their functions remain distinct.
- Roman Numerals: I(1), II(2), III(3), IV(4), V(5), X(10), L(50), C(100), D(500), M(1000); the table uses I–XXVI for ordinal alignment to letters.
