A “conclusion” is the final judgment, decision, or opinion formed after considering something or the end or last part of something, especially a speech or piece of writing.

The conclusion of an experiment may be the most important element of the entire methodology.

An effective conclusion will provide a sense of closure to the experiment while again placing your concepts in a somewhat broader context. It will also, if appropriate, expand on the implications of your findings or discussion.

Finally, a good conclusion should address any lingering questions and finalize your argument or discussion in a way that encourages further thought without being too heavy-handed in its delivery.
