Broadband is a high-speed Internet connection that is always on. It is much faster than a dial-up connection and allows you to do many things at the same time, such as download music, stream video, and surf the web.

A broadband connection can be either wired or wireless. A wired broadband connection uses an Ethernet cable to connect your computer to the modem. A wireless broadband connection uses radio waves to connect your computer to the modem.

Broadband speeds vary depending on the type of service you have and how far away you are from the nearest provider tower or node. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) defines broadband as 25 Mbps down/3 Mbps up for fixed connections and 4G LTE for mobile connections.
