What Is An IP Address?

An IP address is a unique identifier for a device on a network. It allows devices to communicate with each other and share data. Each device on a network has its own IP address.

IP addresses are made up of four numbers separated by periods. These numbers are between 0 and 255. For example, an IP address might look like this: 192.168.1.1

You can think of an IP address as similar to a phone number for your computer or other devices connected to the internet.
