AMI – Alternate Mark Inversion

AMI is a type of digital communication used to transmit data using pulses. The signal is inverted, or reversed, at specific intervals to create a unique code. This code can be decoded by the receiver to reconstruct the original message.

AMI has several advantages over other digital communication methods. It is very efficient in terms of bandwidth and power consumption. AMI also has error-correction capabilities built into the system, which helps to ensure that data is transmitted correctly.

Despite its benefits, AMI does have some drawbacks. One major drawback is that it is not compatible with all types of equipment. Another potential issue with AMI is that it can be susceptible to interference from other electronic devices.
