  3. Intrinsic Interpretability: Using models that are inherently interpretable, like decision trees or linear regression, where the decision-making process is transparent.
  4. Post-Hoc Interpretability: This involves explaining a model after it has been trained, often using visualization tools or surrogate models.

Challenges in XAI

  1. Trade-off between Accuracy and Interpretability: Simpler models are often more interpretable but might lack the accuracy of complex models like deep neural networks.
  2. Diverse Audience: A technical user might need a detailed explanation, while a non-technical user might prefer a summarized overview. Catering to diverse users can be challenging.
  3. Bias and Fairness: Ensuring that explanations do not inadvertently hide or justify biases present in the AI model.
