The Pentagon is the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. It is in Arlington, Virginia, and was designed by George Edwin Bergstrom in 1941. The building has five sides and covers an area of 6.24 million square feet, making it one of the largest office buildings in the world. It houses over 23,000 military and civilian personnel who work to protect America’s national security interests around the globe every day.

The Pentagon

The Pentagon serves as a symbol of American strength throughout history; from World War II to present-day conflicts such as those occurring overseas today with ISIS or al Qaeda forces still active on multiple fronts across several countries worldwide. Its walls contain decade’s worth of stories that have been told by service members stationed there during their time serving our nation’s armed forces – many even having served under more than one president during their tenure at what some would call “the most powerful address on earth”: The Pentagon!

Visitors can take guided tours through its halls which provide a glimpse into life inside this massive facility while giving them insight into how decisions are made within its walls that shape international policy for years to come. Although open only certain days per week, these tours offer an interesting perspective about how operations run within this iconic structure – something visitors will never forget once experienced firsthand!
