Zulu Graphemic Module (LGM v1.0)

Zulu Base Alphabet (Latin-based)

Zulu uses a Latin alphabet with 26 core letters, but several are used only in digraphs/trigraphs. The writing system is phonemic, meaning letters and letter clusters correspond directly to sounds.

System Notes for Lattice Integration

  • Zulu uses no silent letters — all graphemes are pronounced.
  • Aspiration is always written explicitly with “h”.
  • Prenasalization is written with “n” before the main consonant or click.
  • Clicks are central to Zulu identity and must be preserved as single phoneme nodes in the lattice, even when represented by digraph/trigraph letter chains.
