Narrative (how the branch fabric stays fast, safe, and consistent)

1) Purpose & posture

  • Objective: Turn up and operate thousands of stores with PCI-segmented networks, POS continuity, and omnichannel integration (store, web, mobile).
  • Posture: Zero-Trust everywhere, least-privilege vendor access, and evidence-ready PCI controls.

2) Edge & transport (syntax that scales)

  • SD-Branch/SD-WAN per store with dual underlays: primary DIA/broadband (metro-E where present) and LTE/5G FWA for instant turn-up and outage failover.
  • Deterministic segmentation at the edge: PCI/POS, Corp-IT, IoT/CCTV, Guest. QoS elevates POS and store voice above everything else.
  • ZTP templates standardize day-0 builds; regional MPLS/IX hubs optionally aggregate traffic.

3) Zero-Trust access fabric (semantics preserved)

  • SASE/SSE POPs enforce ZTNA (user/device/role), SWG/CASB/FWaaS/DLP for SaaS and e-commerce flows, and vendor windows gated via PAM.
  • Geo/data-residency fences pin customer/transaction data to approved regions.

4) Payment, voice, and cloud destinations

  • Regional colo hosts payment tokenization/SIEM/HSM/KMS and SBC for voice to CCaaS/UCaaS.
