Verizon To Highlight LTE Device Specs – Reaches out to developers…
Verizon is getting prepared to deploy faster LTE wireless broadband service to "25-30" markets in 2010, with most of its network upgraded by 2014. According to Verizon, the service will initially launch with speeds between 5 Mbps and 13 Mbps downstream, and between 2 Mbps and 5 Mbps upstream. No word on pricing or caps yet, but the carrier is beginning to discuss some device specifications , and will hold a conference call on January 20 to chat up their LTE plans in more detail as they reach out to developers

I found simulation results that handover latency increases for higher speeds of the mobile station and as the value of lgd_factor_ (sensitivity of link failure detection) increases, the handover latency for higher speeds going reduced. The routing protocol used in the simulation is NOAH. 1.

Comcast Speed Upgrades Zipping Right Along – DOCSIS 3.0 expands into 27 additional California communities
Comcast says they'll have 80% of their entire footprint upgraded with the faster speeds by the end of this year next week, and their entire customer base upgraded by the end of 2010 - roughly 40 million homes and businesses passed. The cable giant recently announced that they're raising the cable modem rental fee from $3 to $5 to help pay for the upgrades -- which one Comcast executive once proclaimed could be completed with " couch change ." Comcast this week announced that 27 additional Northern California communities have been upgraded, which, as in all upgraded markets, means doubled standard broadband tiers, and access to new 22 and 50 Mbps speeds. Inconsistent Airave data connectivity and throughput
I have continually had problems for the past year, since I started using an Airave, with it providing a consistent data connection to my phone. All the lights on the front of the unit are blue and it handles phone calls just fine. I understand the throughput speeds will be slow (1xRTT) but I expected the data service to connect quickly and consistently be available to me. ? I am using it with a cable
