Role of WiMAX in Smart Grid
Several analysts, including those at GTM Research and Pike Research, have evaluated field area network options and seem to agree thatWiMAX ( News - Alert) should be a preferred technology solution for utilities to select to anchor their field area network as the preferred access technology. WiMAX is capable of running over both licensed and unlicensed spectrum and is arguably more secure and reliable that alternative technologies. When compared to RF mesh technologies WiMAX has significantly better latency and is fully capable of supporting teleprotection applications.

How does the android compare to winmo6.5
A WiMAX device sounds great, but LG? really? I have not been impressed with the direction LG has gone in beginning with the Chocolate, their latest phone to launch on AT&TÂ (LG Expo) has a built-in projector - it is interesting, but how many people could actually want that..

What Phones would you like to see on Sprint? Hopefully some one will see this!
What would you guys think about this phone if it is actually announced? ? http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/12/23/sprint-to-announce-windows-mobile-wimax-phone-january-6th/ ? ? AND what features would you want it to have beyond WIMAX and WinMo 6.5? What phone specifications?

About Speed of Mobile Station on Handover Latency!
I found simulation results that handover latency increases for higher speeds of the mobile station and as the value of lgd_factor_ (sensitivity of link failure detection) increases, the handover latency for higher speeds going reduced. The routing protocol used in the simulation is NOAH. 1.

Sprint, LG, Microsoft To Intro WinMo WiMax Phone?
Sprint has scheduled a big event for Jan 6 at CES. Dan Hesse and Steve Ballmer are taking the stage together for some major announcement and Sprint is saying that it is the "must attend" event of the show. InformationWeek is guessing that they will announce a WiMax phone.

Routing protocols in WiMAX
Dear All, I am doing a research on the Routing protocols in WiMAX in Qualnet and I am trying to simulate different routing protocols in WIMAX. Can anybody answer me, which routing protocols are being used in WIMAX i am not able to find that information. Can anybody help me to simulate differnet routing protocols in Qualnet??

WIMAX RADIO RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
. I am working on physical layer radio resource management of different traffic types. In order to do this I am using traffic models developed for wimax for each different type of service (i.e http ftp voice video etc). I was wondering whether you could tell me if once one knows the pdf how these can help find the exact file size, delay time etc

Calling all CLEAR Developers- wherever you may be!
Can any and all CLEAR Developers or would be developers (in Silicon Valley or elsewhere) please share there opinions, experience, and perspective with us by commenting below. If you are not a CLEAR developer, but are developing apps for the iPhone or Android, why haven't you considered CLEAR? If no one responds, it indicates there are no 3rd party CLEAR developers of apps that take advantage of mobile WiMAX Comment here or at: http://wimax.com/commentary/blog/blog-2009/december-2009/clearwire-provides-additional-details-on-its-4g-developer-program-1215 Many thanks Alan Weissberger
