Learning About WAN – Wide Area Network

The LAN and MAN are for smaller geographical areas. These types of networks are used for metropolitan areas or college campuses, large stores, etc. The main difference for the WAN is in the size of it's area coverage. The internet is a perfect example of a WAN network. It is the largest of all of the networks, and connects computers and users from all over the world and enables them to communicate with one another.
