Is It DS3 Bandwidth Or T3 Bandwidth?
In short, a DS3 is a frame structure (28 T1s plus 1.504 mbps overhead, all interweaved in a certain way, etc, etc). A T3 is an actual interface (certain peak-to-peak voltage, certain impedance, etc). It's rare that you would ever get your hands on an actual DS3 because that is created by, say, a T3 mux.

For Mobile WiMAX advocates, this conference was mostly disappointing. No firm announcement on the long rumored tri-mode (WiMAX, 3G-EVDO, WiFi) smart phone, uncertain pricing for MIDs (see earlier wimax360 post), nothing on mobile video/Sprint TV for WiMAX, and no announcements of eReaders or cameras with embedded WiMAX interfaces.

As Cisco looks to extend the reach of its high-definition video conferencing capabilities by buying Tandberg, rival LifeSize Communications is unveiling Passport, a device designed to bring HD video conferencing to small and midsize businesses, teleworkers and mobile employees.
