The Fiber Gold Rush Is On
We’ve known for some time that ultimately we’d need to move from copper wires to fiber optic strands to get the bandwidth we’ll need as technology advances. Internet service providers, Cable TV companies, medical centers, telephone switching offices and major corporations have gradually embraced this move over the last couple of decades. New services, such as Metro Ethernet , have made fiber optic connections affordable for even mid-size companies

BT’s Vision – The Fibre Optics Plan
BT Group plc - formerly known as British Telecommunications - has undertaken an ambitious and arduous task: Providing high-speed broadband on a fibre optic backbone to nearly half of the UK population. Demands on the ancient copper wires with the explosion of internet video and other high-density transmissions has forced BT to literally double and redouble their initial plans to provide fibre optics to 1 million homes to 10 million homes with Fibre To The Premises (FTTP) access by 2012. This equates to approximately 40% of the population.

Copper Thrives In The 21st Century
Alexander Graham Bell loved copper wire. His Bell Telephone Company and others strung it on poles and buried it in the ground until there were thousands upon thousands of miles of small gauge copper wire connecting nearly every home and business.

Why Cable-Telco’s Should Not Ignore FTTH!
Has Verizon seen past the critics of FTTH in realizing that it will ultimately be the (End Game)? Do not try to convince the Cable Industry like Comcast or Time Warner Cable , or Telco’s like AT&T , who have their own version of what the broadband landscape should look like, at least in the near term

How To Install CAT6 Cables And Make A Network Patch
Now, if you have any prepare cables hooked up remove them this will make process move smoother. CAT6 cable should be measured all the way to the network equipment the length of CAT6 cable should be long. Secondly, you need to insert a RJ-45 connector port into the network equipment the first box.

T1 Terminology, DS1 Technology and What to Watch Out For in the Telecom Market
The terminology that is known as a "T-1" or "T1" is abbreviated for Trunk Level 1, which is a telecommunications standard for digital transmission under the Digital Signal Level hierarchy. A T1 over copper is delivered by connecting two pairs of twisted copper wires between the subscriber location and the telco provider's central office also known as the (CO).
