Cable TV only requires that you have a cable-ready TV for connecting. With the satellite, you need to have the receivers installed for each room where you’ll be utilizing the satellite signal. With most packages you get enough to cover four rooms. And you also need a place where you can access the Southern sky on the main dish for getting the best reception.

Some of the important benefits to cable TV are things like no rain or cloud interference as with the satellite programming. You can also get your local weather and news, along with no maintenance situations like the ones that can occur with satellite. You don’t have to buy any expensive equipment or sign a long term contract. But there are many pros and cons on both sides of the Cable TV and Satellite arguments.

On the other side, many claim that Cable TV is too expensive compared to the satellite. They claim that they’re paying for too many channels that they don’t even watch. The number of channel selections that come with the satellite seems to be a very big draw in spite of weather interruptions that may occur. Cheaper is worth putting up with some technicalities for some.

Cable TV and high speed internet are forces to reckon with, but it’s not a runaway. One of the biggest complaints about cable TV is that, except for some of the paid programming like HBO, regular cable has been taken over by stupid reality shows and bad movies, and the ever boring shopping networks. Nothing but garbage and flipping the channels until your fingers turn blue and you want to throw the remote right through the screen. It all boils down to personal choice, but it’s not as easy as it may seem.
